Tea time

Taking 5 minutes to make a cup of genmai cha (tea) in my special new cup with lid and in-built strainer. Got it from tea shop in Bowral, very hard to pick one from the range. Ended up with one from Japan (surprise surprise… not!) Love the autumn leaves on the design.

Dog is, frankly, shattered after our sunset beach walk. Still very humid and sweaty this evening, especially when jogging after dog.

Katie Noonan, Melody Gardot, Madeline Peyroux and Diana Krall. Just the most beautiful evening of music, at a Day on the Green at Bowral. The rain held off for the most, and ahhhhh, I was just so chilled for the evening. Thanks mum for the ticket (birthday pressie), Bron for the shirt and Dani and Rob for the wine and laughs.

Where do I start? It was a bit like the Tour de France, crossed with grid-iron. The peleton push and shove the other girls out of the way, so the lead skater can whip out the front and lap the peleton and score lots if points. And oh boy, it was hot, sweaty and loud. All the tickets sold out, and the local crowd roared for our team, who thrashed the Dockyard Dames from Newcastle. Well done Wollongong Derby Dolls!

Japanese breakfast 2

Had rice and miso leftover from the last one, so did it again. Fried some whole tomatoes and had them as tangy morsels to accompany the rice (the pickles philosophy), and fried banana served in a seperate dish, all caramalised and looking for all the world like little teriyaki fishies. Hehe yummo. Great start to the day. Considering I had a mad day at work, with no time for lunch til 3pm, it was a very good thing.

She was very excited and wriggly and tail waggy before tearing around the yard then settling down to chewing bone under table while we sang. We’re rehearsing for a circus WOW collaboration to be performed at the Thirroul Seaside Festival, 25 and 26 march, put it in your diary.
